About Us

My photo
Pocono Pines, PA, United States
We are Paul and Enola Royce. We live in Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania with our chihuahua -rat terrier mix Bear, and our two cats, Fluffy (our calico) and Lily (our siamese). We are interstate household movers with Mayflower Transit - contractors actually as we own our own truck. The truck is more then a job - it is truly freedom. We love what we do and make the most of every place we go. The truck has enabled us to see and do all the things that we had both spent our lives dreaming of doing, never really believing it could happen. Paul and I may have met later on in life but we both believe that we were meant to be. Our journey to find each other just took awhile, and like every good fairy tale, we intend to live happily ever after. Our greatest interest in life is our pets, who we consider family. Our other interests are geocaching, gardening, reading, old movies on cold nights and lazing on the boat on hot days.

Visiting Centralia PA

Today we decided to visit Centralia, PA. Paul and I have both always wanted to see the town that has been burning for 47 years. If you are unfamiliar with Centralia's story, here is a link: https://www.offroaders.com/album/centralia/the-story.htm

We left home about 10, packed the Outback with winter snow sneakers, camera, gps, batteries, a few geocache printouts, tuna sandwiches and water. And Bear. And two spare hoodies for Bear, a spare harness and a spare leash. Sunglasses, water bowls, you get it. My usual overpacking. :) Paul drove us out 940 to 80 at Whitehaven so we stopped at wawa for our coffee and then we were finally going! The sun was shining, the temperature was 41 the sky was SO blue- a perfect morning!!

About an hour later we were in Ashland PA on 61 North looking for our first stop, the Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine for an earthcache. As you drive through the busy town of Ashland, there is a small sign pointing the way to the Tunnel- up what we would call an alley! Climbing the hill in the car, continuing along this alley, and crossing streets we finally arrive at this Coal Mine Tunnel entrance! It seems they give tours - maybe something to come back for? We snapped our needed pictures for the cache owner, read a few informative panels and continued on our way to Centralia.
